Dad .. It's been 3 years today since we've lost you. Not really the right word as I feel your presence often. As I've said before it's usually in the sky and the beautiful sunsets, but sometimes in a particular piece of music I'll hear in the car while driving to work in the morning. Dear Santa, I'm writing you this letter as I'm feeling a little blue, so I hope you don't think I am asking too much of you.You visit every year and leave everyone such wonderful things, but I'm wondering if you also visit our loved ones who have wings?...I know you must be busy, so much to do in just one night, but could you please make... an extra trip to the stars that shine so bright? You see....we all have loved ones - too perfect for life on earth, no presents could we send them to truly show their worth. So could you please leave them all a gift and put a stocking on their cloud, filled full of precious presents from their loved ones on the ground. Please stroke their sleepy heads and tell them their families love them so, that their hearts ache with sadness and their tears seem to flow. If you could do this for me Santa, their families might be able to smile, even if it's just for a tiny little while. So thank you very much Santa for all that you do. After all, its Christmas up in Heaven, too. ♥ ♥

Wow three years since you have gone to be with our Lord. I think of you every day and I miss you more than you know. This year I have grown spiritually more than I have in a long time. I am as a parent learning how to take my daughter through some rough times that I did not know would exist. She is hurt and I am there for her, in the way that you have been there for me. We saw Judi yesterday before we went to Jack's home for dinner. It was good to see Judi and Mark. We exchanged gifts at Jack's and then had a wonderful dinner. Dad...It is 2 years ago that you left this earth and started a journey to Heaven where Jesus would greet you. I was privledged to care for you and be with you at that time. My dear Bob: Today is Christmas Day and I miss you as always. This is my second Christmas without you and it does not get any easier. We looked out at the sky today and the sun got so bright it was blinding, but we figured it was you giving us a sign that you were okay and watching over us. Then the sun disappeared for the rest of the day. We had Christmas Eve at Jack's and then Mary and I went to our church for the 10 p.m. Mass and drove around looking at Christmas lights. Tis June and that can only mean Fathers Day. Even tho Kathy and I will be on vacation, traveling, you will be in our thoughts. As Valentines Day approaches, I am reminded of a proverb, everytime I look at the sky to talk to those who have passed, I remember this proverb. I am sure that Dad and other family members have passed this is true. “Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.”

Dad: I agree with what you said. "You can have furniture, cars,all this kind of stuff, but,it does not mean anything unless you have family and love. Family is everything". We are here today to remember and celebrate a great mans life. As the oldest out-law of the family, I paved the way for the other Son-In-Laws and Daughter-In Law. I was sure the first 6 months I knew him that he hated me as he never talked to me, just sit in his chair and read the paper. I am not sure I saw his face until 3 or 4 months. Dad was a man that loved a good joke and if he could make you blush all the better. Remember me in the living room doing OH WA TA GO SIAM!!! Can yu say Red in the face when I finally figured it out. Dad was a good listener, and would always make time for you and take a real interest in what yoiu had to say and were doing. A good Friend and Mentor. Even though at times wanting, what all of us thought, was too much perfection on a project or wanting to draw more pictures so everyone would know the plan. A pencil and pad were never far from reach. And if you saw him heading for the kitchen draw, well pull up a chair as you were going to there for awhile. As a father, well, Kathy had all the love and support and toughest road as the oldest. Mary got off a little easier as Kathy paved the way, and Judy, well lets just say wild child ... but Jack .. His son, well he had it made, after dealing with all the girls, Dad was happy to see his boy take on many and all endeavors. Looking at all the kids today ... wee .. he did a fine job in their growth into adulthood. He may not have always agreed with the things we did or our choices but he would always support our decisions and be there when we needed him. Dad fought a strong battle these past few years. Having been with him on this 86th birthday, I could still see his determination, strength, wisdome and vast knowledge and his desire to partake in every aspect of life. His life clearly defined what all of us should strive for: Be a Friend Be a Mentor Be a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Dad we are all proud of you and know you will alwyas be in our hearts and thoughts. We will truly miss a great Man

On 10/27, Family and Friends gather to remember a great man, devoted husband, father, grandfather, & great greandfather. Life is precious and short, but all the family will keep Bob in our thoughts and hearts and our memories will keep him always close.
